The other reason Sept. is my favorite month...

My big boy is 11 now.  Wow, I just can't believe it.  He's just growing up waaaaay to fast.

He had a fun birthday weekend.  He had a football game Saturday morning, followed by having some of his best friends over to hang out, and eat cake and pizza!   Unfortunately that game will be his last, since we just can't fit that AND soccer into our schedules and give them both 100%.  He was afraid to let it go because he said he didn't want to be a quitter.  I explained to him that sometimes you have to let something go (especially if it's unproductive to give something that you really love your 100%.)    I told him that he could continue to play if he REALLY wanted to and thought he could give both soccer and football his 100%. I think he knew there was just no way to do it all since soccer and football practices are already conflicting.   Anyway, he loves soccer and will have a great time, because he of his love for it.

I'll have to post some birthday party pics later from Connor's and Claire's parties.  I really don't want to go upstairs right now and get the pics from our PC to put on here.  Lazy, I know, but it's late, I'm tired, and work calls me to return in the morning.  I stayed home today with the remnants of a yucky tummy virus that began early Saturday morning.  UGH...still not feeling 100% like me, but hoping by the morning I will.

Until next post...keep checking for fingerprints!

September is my favorite month.

Both of my sweet kiddos were born in September, so obviously it's a special time for us.  Claire's birthday was several days ago and I'm just now getting around to posting a few pics of her special day.  The day of her birthday, as is tradition, she opened a gift and had a candle in her breakfast of choice.

Connor was so sweet to his little sister on her birthday.  You think he was being so sweet because he knows his birthday is very soon after hers?

Claire's sweet daddy sent flowers to her at school, and I made a big cookie for her to share with her class.  It just so happened that her teacher needed someone to watch her class at the end of the day so her class came to the library to have birthday treats!  I'm so blessed to be able to do things like that.

Happy (late) birthday to my sweet girl!  Gosh, we love her so much!

I'm not making any promises, but

I'm back for now.  Earlier, I was listening to my hubby and children giggling and cackling over some older photos of themselves.  I spent most of the weekend worried about cleaning my house.  When I get focused on housecleaning (which doesn't happen very often) I am completely focused on the task at hand, and anything else is just an interference.

Listening to their laughter made me sad that I could have enjoyed it all weekend.  SO, I have to start keeping the "pick-up" cleaning done during the week.  Then, I can put aside a couple of hours when I wake up Saturday to do the sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc, so I don't spend a whole weekend playing catch up!

Hearing that laughter also made me think of a few pics that make me smile:

Everytime I make a collage, I think of the song by the Bellamy Brothers that says "These are a few things I'm in love with..."

My friend, Lyn will be very proud of me for making this lovely collage in Picasa. I realize I did cut off a head or two in it, but I love making them, and the more I practice, the better I'll get.  Oh, how I've fallen in love with Picasa in two days!!  Now, I just have to MAKE TIME to get on here more often.  :)
I hope everyone has a great Labor Day holiday tomorrow!  I have a clean house, so we might be able to get out and do something fun as a family!  YEA!    Be back soon!

Checking for fingerprints,
